Corrala


This building is a typical 19th century Madrid construction called corrala, but you find them also in Italy. In this kind of housing the apartments open to a central courtyard. The one in the picture lacks one of its walls, so you can see clearly the structure of the yard.
The light was a late afternoon sun.
